Established in 2012, Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (HIMSR), New Delhi is a private medical institution and a constituent institute of Jamia Hamdard. The institute was established by Jamia Hamdard with the objective of advancing medical education, research, and healthcare.
The application for establishing HIMSR as a new medical college was submitted to the Medical Council of India in September 2010, and the Letter of Permission for establishing the medical college was issued on 29 June 2012. The first batch of 100 MBBS students was admitted in July 2012. The MBBS intake was subsequently increased to 150 seats with permission from the National Medical Commission.
