The number of questions was reduced from 200 to 180, while the total marks dropped from 800 to 720. NEET PG 2026 was conducted on August 30, 2026, in a single shift from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
Around 2.65 lakh candidates reportedly appeared for the examination across 1,111 centres in 338 cities, while the NEET PG 2026 result is expected by September 30, 2026.
The marking scheme remains unchanged:
+4 marks for every correct answer
-1 mark for every incorrect answer
0 marks for unanswered questions
Because the maximum score has been reduced from 800 to 720, comparing NEET PG 2026 scores directly with old marks-vs-rank tables can be misleading. Previous-year scores need to be interpreted carefully while estimating possible rank ranges under the new pattern.
